Welcome to Hooked on Walking Holidays and our three fabulous walking holidays in Slovenia. The Slovenian Alps in the north and north west of Slovenia are some of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Europe. Slovenia has also a very small population per square kilometre and even less so in the Alps. The Slovenian Alps consists of a number of mountain ranges, to the west is the Julian Alps with such famous places as Bled with its lake and chapel on the Island, Kranjska Gora with its wonderful winter ski resorts, Bohinj with one of the largest lakes, Triglav National Park. To the east of Bled we have Savinjske Alps, Logarski Valley and Karavanke range, ranges far less explored.
We have developed hiking holidays, based around the Julian Alps to the north and west of Bled and to the east of Bled. These trekking holidays are available as self guided walking tours.
Slovenian Alps- 7 night self guided walking tour level 2-3
The Slovenian Alps seem to be different to other mountain ranges, they glisten in the light as they are made of white limestone. Your walking tour has been designed in a very remote region with fabulous panoramic views each day. Your tour starts walking between isolated farms in Savinjske Alps. Then onto the Logarski Valley which is known as one of the most beautiful Glacial valleys. Jezersko means “ place with the lake “. When the glacier melted after the last Ice Age a large lake was formed which remains to this day. From here you walk to the world famous Bled and its lake with an old church on an island in the middle. Why not stay as extra nights in Bled where you can have time in the town or explore with a further walk.
Julian Alps - 7 night self guided walking tour level 2
This hiking tour is within the region of north west Slovenia  more commonly known as the Julian Alps. This walking holiday in the Julian Alps we have graded as a level 2 self guided tour. The starting location is near Kranjska Gora a wonderful alpine town not far from the Austrian Border and in the foothills of the Julian Alps. This region is fabulous for hiking , great forests , gushing rivers and waterfalls in wonderful emerald green colour.

This hike is a collection of different graded walks, however none of them have a climbers rate. In general you will walk mountain ridges, mountain meadows, valley floors, slowly descending from east to west. The landscape has an alpine character.
